Before there was “Think Like A Man” and movies of similar content, there was the show “Living Single”….4 carefree, beautiful black women working, socializing and most importantly living together! We need more shows/movies like this that show exactly how strong, independent and smart black women truly are, and how they can work to reach their goals together, not separately.

In reality.

In reality, half the stuff that I worry my little head off on a day to day basis is of so little magnitude when compared to the things my neighbors, friends and family are struggling with. And I know this. But in the back of my mind the trivial things of the world still worry me. I need to get over it. I need to get over it and not give two shits about anything else but my health and the ones I love. Because in reality, that’s all that matters.

…Until the early 1970s, less than 11 percent of the adult population graduated from college, and most of them could get a decent job. Today nearly a third have college degrees, and a higher percentage of them graduated from nonelite schools. A bachelor’s degree on its own no longer conveys…
